VCU Rams (16-6, 7-2 A10)

Q1: 1-3 | Q2: 2-2 | Q3: 7-1 | Q4: 6-0
If it wasn’t for the fact that many bracketologists are pegging VCU as the auto-bid from the Atlantic 10 right now, I think we would be hearing a lot more buzz about them as an at-large bid. As a whole, the Rams do not really have any bad losses and they have collected a few solid wins along the way. VCU has been quite impressive to me all season long and their metric rankings are also very solid. If VCU doesn’t win the A10 Tournament, they will surely be sweating it out on Selection Sunday but they have earned a spot on the bubble.
Davidson Wildcats (17-5, 8-1 A10)
NET: 59 | KPI: 49 | SOR: 48 | BPI: 74 | KP: 72 | Sag: 67
Q1: 0-2 | Q2: 3-1 | Q3: 5-2 | Q4: 8-0
Davidson has lost just one game since the start of 2019 and I think that pretty much explains how the team is performing right now. Heading into Atlantic 10 play, many thought it was possible for Davidson to creep into at-large contention but it would take a lot of strong play. Well, they have done that to this point and therefore here they are on the edge. Their lack of a Q1 win hurts their resume as do two relatively weak losses but they are in the hunt. Without any quality opportunities left on the resume and many potential bubble-bursters roaming, they need to avoid errors.
