As always, this past week featured several big-time performances by bubble teams. Who were the biggest bracketology winners of the week?

Another week in college basketball is complete and you know what that means…here comes another edition of my bracketology winners! I know, I know, this has been what you have been waiting for all weekend (obviously kidding) so I won’t spend too much time on the introduction but I am serious when I say that the college basketball season is starting to heat up. Unlike following the sport a month ago, just about every game can have a major impact on the potential NCAA Tournament field and there is no such thing as a “night off” as a bracketologist.

Computer numbers are always a vital part of the NCAA Tournament selection/seeding process but, as everyone constantly states, the eye test is also incredibly important. There are always several factors that go into the process used by the committee and I always try my best to replicate that to the best of my ability. The most important part of building an NCAA Tournament resume, though, is simply winning games and that is what each of these teams in my bracketology winners of this week did.

As always, this piece is limited to those teams who perhaps needed wins the most. Because of this, you should not expect a team like Duke, who was already the projected No. 1 overall seed before defeating Virginia on the road, to be included in this piece. You can expect bubble teams, including those from mid-major conferences, to see their names appear throughout this piece.

Now…let’s break down my eight biggest bracketology winners of the week!
