Duke – Production outside of freshmen

The Duke Blue Devils may be the best team in the country but they are the most dynamic team in the country. They are one of the best offensive teams in the sport, averaging 87 points per game, they also rank in the top-21 in the nation in field-goal defense (38.2), field-goal percentage (48.6), three-point field goal defense (28.8), assists (16.9), steals (10.4), blocks (7.5), offensive rebounds (14.41), and total rebounds per game (43). Some might think a team like Duke doesn’t have a worry, but this team is led by four superstar freshmen.

Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish, and Tre’ Jones have adjusted well to college life on the basketball court, but for the 20-2 Blue Devils, one big worry for them is that they are getting too much production from the four first-year players and not enough from the other players on the roster. In their 22 games this season, Barrett and Williamson have led them in scoring in all but one, while one of the four has also led them in assists in every one and when it comes to rebounding, Jack White and Marques Bolden have led the team in five contests. S

coring from elsewhere is the main worry for Duke, of their 87 points per game, the four freshmen account for 61.9 of them. The main upperclassmen contributors, Bolden, White, Alex O’Connell, and Javin DeLaurier amass just 19.1 points per game. Duke is a likely Final Four contender but, if they don’t get more contributions from players not in their first year, they could get tripped up if the freshmen have a night where they aren’t dominating.
