The American has always been a competitive conference in college hoops. Who are the leaders for the coveted AAC Basketball Player of the Year?

AAC Basketball has always been an exciting brand in college hoops. The conference has some tradition-rich programs, as well as some upstart programs looking to make noise in March. The American acts and operates like a Power-5 conference. The depth in the league is not nearly as good as the traditional Power-5 conferences but the top of the conference has some of the strongest teams in the country.

Since the league came to be, with the remaining schools of the old Big East along with some other schools who chose the American after conference realignment. The conference has been dominated by two teams Cincinnati and Wichita State. The Shockers dominance has not been as long as they have only been a member of the conference for two seasons.

This season the Bearcats of Cincinnati and the Houston Cougars are the class of the league. The league still has powerhouse programs in Temple and UConn that can always make a run at the league crown. The top teams in the league all can make a run to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament. The Bearcats are an NCAA tournament qualifier every year. The top teams also have all of the top players as well.

These players are going to help these teams qualify for the NCAA tournament and each of them is a feared player in the league, for their elite ability to score the ball.
