Big Ten Basketball: Indiana, Michigan, and Iowa top uniforms in league
By Adam Childs
Maryland’s uniforms are known for incorporating their state flag and for the most part it works. They are one of the few schools whose colors are the same as the flag and they make sure they show it off. The football uniforms really go all out with it and it can make it look a bit much, but the basketball uniforms do a pretty good job of it.
The problem with it is the collar. The flag looks good at the bottom of the shorts but it is too small and just looks messy around the collar. I feel like they would have been better off just making it a solid color. While most people know that it is the flag, it is hard to tell. The pants are easy to see it is the flag and it works down there.
The rest of the uniform is nice and clean. The font on the lettering and numbers is good and the little accent color on the sleeve is nice. Also having the M on both sides of the pants is good and simple. They do not mess with any striping up the side of the uniform and that is good for this uniform. They look good in all their colors, whether it be red, yellow, black or white. Because they are all colors of the flag they all work. Overall not a bad uniform but could be a little better.
