Butler Basketball: Resume breakdown for the bubblicious Bulldogs
With under a month remaining until Selection Sunday, Butler basketball is sitting squarely on the bubble. Where do the Dawgs stand and what do they need to do?
March is approaching. Now with just under a month remaining until Selection Sunday, teams around the country are seeking out quality wins to bolster their resumes. At this point in time, there are several teams sitting on the bubble with hopes of securing an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Butler Basketball, which sits at 15-11 (6-7 BE) on the year, is one of those teams.
Over the course of this season, Butler has really struggled to find consistency. At different points in the year, the Dawgs have looked almost unstoppable but also extremely vulnerable…sometimes in the same game, even. This inability to string together multiple wins in a row has led to the Dawgs sitting right on the NCAA Tournament cut line right now. Heading into their matchup with DePaul (which turned out to be a victory), Butler was the last team in our projected bracketology field but is trending up compared to others.
With that said, though, life on the bubble is never easy and every game counts. There are five games remaining on the regular season schedule for the Butler Bulldogs and the team will need to play well in order to make the NCAA Tournament. So, without any further ado, let’s dive into breaking down the Dawgs’ chances of making the Big Dance by analyzing their resume, eye test, and looking into what the team needs to do moving forward.
