If not for a horrible second half against Maryland the Boilermakers would be on a ten game winning streak and in complete control of the Big Ten regular-season championship. Purdue led the Terrapins at halftime but could not hit a shot in the second half as Maryland took control to beat the Boilermakers. Purdue did bounce back with a win against a pesky Penn State team.

Purdue may not be the best team in the conference but because of their remaining schedule, they have to be considered the favorite to win the regular season. They do not play any teams ranked or in the top half of the Big Ten the rest of the year. The Boilermakers are going to be favored in every game moving forward and if they take care of business the worst they will do is a tie for the top spot.

Carsen Edwards continues to be one of the best players in the conference and maybe the whole country. As long as Purdue has him, they have a shot. They do have to go on the road twice this week against Indiana and Nebraska. They are better than both those teams, but you can never discount a rivalry game and Nebraska is fighting for their tournament life. Get through this week and the Boilermakers will be sitting pretty.
