Big Ten Basketball Power Rankings: Indiana, Ohio State slides towards bottom
By Adam Childs
The Wildcats just have not been very good lately. Recently they lost to Penn State giving them their first win of the conference and this week they lost to both Rutgers and Nebraska. They have now lost six in a row since their win against Indiana. They have had some close games but have fallen short each time.
Vic Law and Derek Pardon are having decent seasons but it has not been enough to help the Wildcats win games. They only have three guys averaging in double figures and they just overall struggle to score. They are averaging just 67 points per game and that is not enough when you play some good offenses inside the Big Ten.
Northwestern was not expected to be a tournament team this year but they had to expect more than what they are getting right now. They have shown flashes of being a decent team, but are still struggling.
They have a shot at a win on Wednesday as they travel to Ohio State who has also been struggling lately, but then they play Wisconsin to end the week. If they can’t beat Ohio State they may struggle to win a game the rest of the year.
