Big Ten Basketball Power Rankings: Indiana, Ohio State slides towards bottom
By Adam Childs
After a rough four-game stretch that included a loss to start last week against Nebraska, the Gophers were able to get back in the win column with a blow out of Indiana. The Gophers desperately needed that win to get back on track.
They get tested right again as they host Michigan on Thursday. This is a huge game for the Gophers and if they could upset the Wolverines they may just punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament. The Gophers came close in their first game, but Charles Matthews hit a buzzer beater to win by two.
They finish the week with a trip to Rutgers in what could be a very tricky game. That is another game the Gophers must have to solidify their case into the big dance. The Gophers have the talent but can go through long stretches of not scoring and that obviously kills their ability to get any flow in the game.
Minnesota is again a team that gives lost of teams fits as their bigs do a great job inside and they crash the boards hard. They make it tough for any team they play to score and that will keep them in any game.
