The Villanova Wildcats hope to get back to their winning ways in a marquee matchup at Big East foe Georgetown on Wednesday.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, it appeared the Villanova Wildcats finally had their mojo back.

Following a questionable slate of results during non-conference play, the Wildcats were rolling through Big East play without a blemish on their schedule. The conference is in a lull compared to previous years, but winning ten straight to begin league play remained impressive.

That unbeaten run through the Big East ended in Wisconsin, when the conference’s only other ranked squad (Marquette) secured a one-point win over Villanova. Eight days later – in stunning fashion – the Wildcats dropped their second contest in a three-game stretch courtesy of the St. John’s Red Storm.

Villanova hasn’t won a game outside of the cozy confines of their home court since January.

Wednesday’s game in the nation’s capital will give Villanova their next opportunity to secure a road victory as the Wildcats take on the Georgetown Hoyas for the second time this season.

With the Golden Eagles off until late Wednesday night, the Wildcats will enter Wednesday’s contest with a half-game hold on the Big East standings. Marquette has six games remaining in the regular season, while Villanova has five (including the Georgetown game).

This is the second in a three-game stretch of road games for the Wildcats, their last (and longest) true road trip of the season.

Here are three keys to a Villanova victory on Wednesday night.
