Texas Tech Basketball will look to avenge its loss to Kansas earlier in the month. Here are three keys for the Red Raiders against the Jayhawks.

Texas Tech basketball has had quite the up-and-down season.

After starting out the season with just one loss in non-conference play, and winning their first four Big 12 conference games, the Red Raiders have fallen behind a bit in the Big 12 race, but will be presented with a prime chance to rise back to the top of the standings when the Kansas Jayhawks come to town on Saturday.

The Red Raiders and Jayhawks are arguably, despite the standings, the two best teams in the Big 12. Earlier this month, Texas Tech was demolished against Kansas in Lawrence, but this is a much different Kansas team than before.

Additionally, Texas Tech was in the midst of its worst stretch of the season at that point, losing three of five before heading to Lawrence. Prior to this matchup, the Red Raiders are winners of their last four.

Kansas, on the other hand, had its worst stretch of the season immediately following their big win over the Red Raiders. The Jayhawks are also just one game back of first-place Kansas State, but are an absolutely wreck on the road, and will not have the advantage of playing on their home court this time around.

If Texas Tech can pull out the win, they’ll be within half a game of the first place Wildcats. If Kansas State loses on Saturday, the Red Raiders will be back at a tie for first place, inching closer to completing a long journey back to the first place spot in the standings.

Despite the various factors working against the Jayhawks, Texas Tech will certainly have its hands full on Saturday night. In order to defeat Kansas, here are three keys for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in their biggest game of the season to this point.
