NCAA Basketball Power Rankings: Gonzaga tops the list, Texas Tech rises
4. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky is also one of the hottest teams in the country after a slow start in non-conference. With a 23-4 (12-2 SEC) total record, the Wildcats have one of the better resumes in the nation and they have won 13 of their last 14 games. Head coach John Calipari is starting to maximize the potential of his roster and the team is playing at the level many thought they could in the preseason. There were plenty of reasons why UK was a preseason top-5 team in the nation and they are starting to show why that was the case. Watch out for BBN to start ramping up the energy as the postseason approaches.
3. Duke Blue Devils
Duke drops slightly this week after a 16-point loss at home to North Carolina. When healthy, this is easily one of the top teams in the country and a national title contender. With that said, though, we have seen that they are definitely vulnerable when down a player (or two). This is certainly the case for most teams but Duke’s depth is a bit concerning. With that said, though, it would be a mistake to think that the Blue Devils are not clearly one of the most talented teams that can run up the score on just about anyone they face.
