3) How far can Myles Powell lead Seton Hall?

Looking for a double-digit seed capable of reaching the Sweet 16? Seton Hall is an excellent candidate (speaking of the Big East).

They have all the ingredients in the traditional Cinderella recipe. The Pirates are playing their best basketball of the season right now, having beat Marquette and Villanova in their last two outings. They have a star capable of carrying them (and setting the NCAA Tournament on fire) in Myles Powell. They’re battle-tested after playing one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, and that non-conference included a neutral court win over Kentucky and road win over Maryland.

Oh yeah, they’re also super fun and extremely easy to root for.

The Pirates lost four starters from last year’s team weren’t expected to do much. They’ve been inconsistent because of the youth they’ve had to rely on, but the talent is there.

How they perform in the Big East Tournament might be very telling for them. Both wins over Marquette and Villanova came at home, so we need to see if they can translate that level of play to a neutral court. I think they can given what we saw from them against Kentucky and Maryland, but that’s the only box left for them to check.

Barring a very unfavorable draw, I like Seton Hall’s chances of winning a game or two in the dance.
