The two teams just met in the regular season finale and the Jaguars emerged victoriously. The two teams split their matchups this season, and Texas Southern won’t struggle in this one. A week ago, the Hornets were sitting in third place and, barring a collapse at the end of the season, would be hosting a first-round matchup in the tournament. A collapse is exactly what happened, though, as they los their last 4 games. Jackson State just finished their season against Alabama State and the two are slated to meet again in the first round of the tournament. The two teams have split the season series. Venjie Wallace is the leader for the Tigers who at times have trouble putting the ball in the basket. Prediction: Alabama State Advances
(5) Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions at (4) Grambling State Tigers

The Golden Lions are a victim of tiebreakers in this scenario, even though they may be the fifth seed in the tournament, they have one of the better rosters from top to bottom. Grambling State is led by Ivy Smith and he leads a hungry Tiger team. The Tigers were not eligible for the tournament last season due to their graduation rates. This year, they are in the SWAC Tournament and are looking to qualify for their first NCAA tournament. Prediction: Arkansas Pine Bluff Advances
