TCU Horned Frogs

The TCU Horned Frogs do not have the quality of wins that Texas does but they don’t have the number of losses that Texas or some of the other bubble teams do. They do have a 20-13 record though so we don’t need to act like they were taking care of business. They really struggled to end the season and their resume is highlighted by two wins over Iowa State.

TCU is ranked 51st in the NET which has them right on the edge of getting in. The Cyclones are playing better recently which makes their two wins look even better. They also won at Texas to end the regular season to sweep the season series. If a bid comes down to those two then TCU would have to have the advantage.

Dayton is looking like a good possibility for the Horned Frogs if they were to get into the field. A couple of bids have been stolen though which could keep them out. With VCU and Gonzaga losing in their conference tournaments that’s at least a couple of stolen bids and one of those may have been TCU’s.

They really struggled to beat good teams this season. They got swept by the other top teams in the Big 12, losing twice to Kansas and Texas Tech while losing three times against Kansas State. Their non-conference schedule wasn’t great but it was better than most year’s which should benefit them.

They showed they can beat mediocre teams but is that enough to get in. Would they rather put in teams like Indiana and Arizona State who have struggled but have shown they can knock off top teams? It will come down to the wire but TCU has a good chance to be one of the last teams in the field.

Prediction: 11 seed, First Four in Dayton
