Big 12 Basketball: 2019 Bracketology predictions for Selection Sunday

Iowa State Cyclones
The Iowa State Cyclones have had a very up and down season. They have shown their ability to make a Final Four run at times but at other times they look like a team that shouldn’t be in the NCAA Tournament at all.
Iowa State does have a few very good road wins which is very surprising for a team with this much inconsistency. They won at Texas Tech, Kansas State, and Oklahoma. Their inconsistency continued as they did lose at home more times than they typically do.
Their NET ranking is 22 which is actually ahead of the Big 12 regular season champion Kansas State Wildcats. While the Cyclones have been very inconsistent they are still a perfect 12-0 against quad 3/4 teams which is very good for their resume. They did go just 11-11 against the quad 1/2 teams though which shows some of their struggles.
Iowa State went on a run to win the Big 12 Tournament and now they’re back to being a sleeper Final Four pick. They have plenty of guys who can score the ball at an elite level which makes them a very exciting team to watch. They won’t be seeded as high as they should be with all their talent but any team who has to match up with them should be very worried.
So many teams’ in the field have been losing a lot recently so the Cyclones might not be seeded as low as some might feel they deserve. They have a good resume and a lot of talented players who have led them to some really good wins. Expect them to be either a five or six seed when the field is announced.
