Kansas State Wildcats

The Kansas State Wildcats have had a very successful season as the earned a share of the regular season Big 12 title. They don’t have bad losses and they have done a good job beating some of the good teams they face.

Their resume is headlined by home wins over Kansas and Texas Tech while also picking up quality road wins against Iowa State and Oklahoma. They have a combined 14-8 record against quad 1/2 teams and 11-0 against quad 3/4.

Those wins have led to Kansas State being ranked 24th in the NET rankings. They likely are in a spot that they will be seeded higher than the 24th best team typically would though. They do have bad losses against Tulsa and Texas A&M which show some of their weaknesses, especially on the offensive end.

They do have some health concerns as well with Dean Wade‘s availability in question. That won’t change their seeding but it is something to keep an eye on heading into the NCAA Tournament. The loss against Iowa State won’t hurt them much because the majority of the other teams will suffer a loss at some point in their conference tournament if they haven’t already.

They had hopes of being the four seed in the Midwest region but they likely would’ve needed to win the Big 12 Tournament to make that happen. They still have a chance at a four seed but it’s also possible they end up as a five seed.

Prediction: 4 seed
