With Selection Sunday upon us, here’s a look at the teams who benefitted the most in Bracketology from Championship Week.

As expected, Bracketology was turned upside down during the week of crowning conference tournament champions. There were a few bid stealers in the A-10, Pac-12 and WCC, as well as teams near the top solidifying their cases for a potential one seed.

But the focus around this time usually concerns the bubble. With bid stealers lurking, it’s important for those on the cut-line to get the signature wins needed to avoid sweating it out on Selection Sunday. It’s also an opportunity for those already projected in the field to move up a couple of seed lines depending on how things go. While there are still some games on Sunday, here are five teams through Saturday who had the best week overall.

Florida State Seminoles

When the Seminoles started conference play at a 1-4 record, they were more concerned with just making the Big Dance at that point. Since then, the team won 14 out of 15 games before Saturday night’s loss to Duke. That stretch included wins over Louisville, Virginia and twice over Virginia Tech.

In the ACC Tournament, Florida State defeated the Hokies in overtime before being the first non-Duke team to beat the Cavaliers. That kind of massive win is good enough to move up a seed line by itself. It was an amazing defensive display, limiting UVA to just 5/24 from deep.

After hanging around the 6-7 seed line, the Seminoles are now projected around the 3-4 range, which gives them preference in regional location. It also gives them a better chance at avoiding the conference juggernauts of Duke, UNC, and UVA. Although, based on how they’re playing as of late, maybe it’s time to consider that the ACC had four legit Final Four contenders.
