Wofford Terriers (7-seed)

The Terriers won the Southern Conference this year with a record of 29-4 and finished the year 19th in the final national college basketball rankings. I would imagine most people filling out their brackets do not even know what state Wofford College is in (its South Carolina by the way), or why Wofford is ranked as a 7-seed.

Wofford only lost 4 games all year and all said losses came to respectable NCAA Tournament teams. These teams included Oklahoma (9-seed in the South), Mississippi State (5-seed in the East), Kansas (4-seed in the Midwest) and North Carolina (1-seed in the Midwest). None of those are bad losses to have on your resume going into the NCAA Tournament.

The Terriers win their games on the defensive side of the court as they have allowed 80 points or more in only 4 of their 33 games this season. Wofford does this all the while averaging just under 7 steals per game as a team. In order for Wofford to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, they must hold opponents to under 70 points per game and force more turnovers than they give up; do that and they can make some noise this March Madness.
