Wofford Terriers 29-4 (18-0 in the Southern)

1st Round Opponent: #10 Seton Hall (Thursday 3/21 @ 9:40PM)

The No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region is the mid-major darling of the Big Dance, No. 19 Wofford Terriers. Mike Young’s Terriers are nationally ranked for the first time ever, ran through their conference season undefeated at 18-0 and then rattled off three more wins to take home the Southern Conference Tournament.

Wofford has one of the best shooters in the country with Fletcher Magee who averages over 20 points per game and leads the country with 4.58 three-pointers per game for a team that averages over 80 points per game.

In the first round, we get treated to one of the best head-to-head matchups of the first round when Wofford and Magee take on Seton Hall and their star Myles Powell and his 22 points per game. Both teams love the long ball, but the Terriers defend the shot a little better than the Pirates in this one.

If Wofford moves on, it is likely they’ll likely meet up with Kentucky in what could be another game that garners a lot of attention but would be a contrast in styles as the Wildcats are far less reliant on the three-pointer. In most years I would like a team like Wofford to make a Sweet Sixteen run, but this section of the bracket for the Terriers and it will be difficult for them to make the second weekend.

Verdict: Sell
