Oregon: 12 seed in the South

Oregon is one of those teams that may be picking up steam as a trendy underdog pick to make it to the Sweet Sixteen but will prove not to be worth the risk when making a bracket

When Oregon won the PAC-12 tournament there was some sentiment that no five seed would want to meet them in the first round. While it is unlucky for Wisconsin to be paired against a team who has had so much success in recent years, I doubt they are trembling in fear at the thought of this year’s iteration of the Oregon Ducks.

There always seems to be a 12 seed who pulls off multiple upsets in a single tournament, and when a power five team falls into one of those positions it seems like an obvious choice as an underdog to bet on. Do not fall for the trap that is Oregon.

While Wisconsin has had its fair share of struggles this season and five seeded Kansas State is facing injury difficulties, there is a reason Oregon is a 12 seed, and there is a reason they even managed to get in to the tournament in the first place. The PAC-12 is bad and full of erratic and inconsistent teams. No one coming from the conference should be trusted to put together multiple strong performances in a row.
