Florida State Basketball: Keys for Seminoles against Murray State in Round of 32
Four seed Florida State Basketball takes on twelve seed Murray State Saturday at 6:10 PM on TNT in Hartford, Connecticut.
In their round of 64 match up with Vermont, the Seminoles did not play the perfect game, but behind Mfiondu Kabengele, they pulled away in the end. In their game against the Murray State Racers, Florida State Basketball potentially faces a tougher challenge in the second round than they saw in the first.
Murray State, despite their low seed, actually had less trouble than Florida State in the first round against fifth seeded Marquette. With star guard Ja Morant leading the way, the Racers grew their lead in the second half and came away with a comfortable 83-64 victory to begin a disappointing day for the Big East in the tournament.
This has the potential to be one of the best match ups of the day with Ja Morant looking to establish his legacy in college basketball with a Cinderella run before heading to the NBA and with the Seminoles continuing their pursuit of Final Four appearance after falling just short last season.
A win here and Florida State will be looking at a game next week against either Baylor or the much more likely Gonzaga for a spot in the Elite Eight. There are three keys they need to focus on to make sure they come away with a win against Murray State, rather than joining Marquette in the dust of the Racers Cinderella run.
