Florida State Basketball: Keys for Seminoles against Murray State in Round of 32
2. Keep Calm
Teams in the tournament often seem to panic when a low seed comes out of the gate playing well. Lower seeds have nothing to lose and often come out more lose. Florida State needs to go into this game knowing they are in for a fight and be okay with that. They need to assume the game will come down to the wire and make sure their nerves do not affect the way they play.
The Racers only have four losses this season. Two of those were early season losses to Alabama by six and seventh ranked at the time Auburn by five. This is a team that shows up against power five schools and can challenge anybody.
The Seminoles showed their ability to stay calm against Vermont so this theoretically should not be a concern for fan of Florida State. Vermont kept the game close from end to end and had a lead as late as ten minutes in to the second half. The Seminoles did what a mature team looking to make a deep run does, they kept their poise and slowly took control in the final quarter of the game. They likely will have to do the same against Murray State.
