After surviving a physical contest against Cincinnati, Iowa Basketball will look to move on to the Sweet Sixteen with a win over Tennessee.

Iowa Basketball certainly know how to make their faithful fans sweat.

Iowa played from behind for most of their first round matchup with the 7-seed Cincinnati Bearcats. When they needed to step up, however, they pushed themselves over the homestate Cincinnati and into the second round, where they’ll meet the 2-seed Tennessee Volunteers.

The Vols have been one of the most consistently excellent teams this season. They’ve spent time atop the AP poll and never strayed far from the top five of those rankings.

A win over Tennessee would mark one of the biggest upsets of the second round.

Tennessee didn’t skate through their first round game unscathed either. They appeared to be ready to roll Colgate, but the hot-shooting team from the Patriot League kept coming back, putting a real scare into the Vols. The 2-seed eventually won, 77-70.

Iowa will once again play in the day’s first game, with tip-off in Columbus set for 12:10 PM ET. CBS will carry the broadcast.

The Hawkeyes have faced a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament six times, according to Sports-Reference. They’re 1-5 in those games, with their lone victory coming against Missouri in 1983.

Tennessee, on the other hand, has one victory in one game over a 10-seed, though they were a 7-seed in that game.

These teams last met five years ago in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament, with Tennessee prevailing 78-65 in overtime after holding the Hawkeyes to zero field goals in the extra period.

Here are three keys to an Iowa upset over Tennessee on Sunday.
