Texas Tech Basketball had a successful first round of the NCAA Tournament, defeating Northern Kentucky to advance to the Round of 32, where they will face the Buffalo Bulls. Here are three keys for the Red Raiders.

Three seed Texas Tech Basketball survived a pesky Northern Kentucky team in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, taking down the Norse 72-57.

Jarrett Culver went off for 29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, leading the way for the Red Raiders. Davide Moretti pitched in ten more points, while Matt Mooney dished out eight assists in the winning effort.

On to the next round for Texas Tech, where they’ll face off against the six seed Buffalo Bulls.

The Bulls are coming off of a big win of their own, as they defeated the eleven seed Arizona State Sun Devils in their first round game.

The matchup between the Red Raiders and Bulls should be a high-tempo, exciting game between two teams that have been ranked among the top-25 for virtually the entire season.

The Bulls have already defeated West Virginia, a Big 12 foe of Texas Tech, this season, and have proved that they can hang with, and beat, high major teams, as they have wins against Arizona State, WVU, and Syracuse on the season.

Texas Tech will have an absolute battle on their hands for Sunday night, as they’ll look to advance to their third-consecutive Sweet Sixteen.

As for Buffalo, the Bulls will look to avoid going home in the Round of 32 for the second year in a row. This should be a good one for a full 40 minutes on Sunday, as two very worthy Sweet Sixteen squads will battle for one spot.

Here are three keys for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, as they’ll look to fend off a potent Buffalo team.
