Florida State Seminoles

In what was one of the most anticipated matchups of the day, Florida State and Murray State delivered on the hype…for all of 10 minutes.

Ja Morant started off on fire, making his first five three-pointers, but the Seminoles were blazing hot. FSU ended up winning by nearly 30, 90-62. They shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three (11-27).

Senior Terance Mann finished with 18-8-6, while sophomore Mfiondu Kabengele scored a team high 22 points. FSU is heading into their meeting with a huge head of steam.

And Morant ended up with a strong stat line despite the blowout (28-5-4-2-1), and the respect of millions after taking a blow torch to Marquette in the first round. Just a quick, never-ending reminder that the Racers most likely would not have made tournament had they not won the OVC Tournament.

Morant should be the second pick in the NBA draft after Zion. I would rather have him than anyone else on the list.

Bryce Brown – Auburn

The Auburn Tigers continued their hot streak, knocking out Kansas 89-75 for their 10th win in a row.

Brown paced Auburn with 25 points, shot 9-13 from the field (and 7-11 from three-point range), and led a balanced Tiger campaign.

If North Carolina can get past Washington, they’ll be facing an Auburn buzzsaw in the Sweet 16.
