SEC Basketball: Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia top uniforms in league
By Erik Mauro
2. Kentucky Wildcats
Here’s the Wildcats, I know you were all on pins and needles, waiting anxiously.
The theme through this whole list was that white as a secondary color doesn’t do great, but something about the Kentucky uniforms just makes it look great.
The checkerboard down the side of the uniform is innovative, and is a bit of a jab at their biggest rival, the Tennessee Volunteers, who have made the checkerboard famous.
Maybe it’s the fact it’s Kentucky and they are just a classic look, or the fact that they have tried to make themselves look good rather than just the plain old blue and white.
The logo on the shorts adds some more blue and doesn’t make the shorts look as bland, and that’s a nice touch.
Big Blue has a blue road uniform, with white checkerboard down the side. The Kentucky Basketball uniforms are truly a sight to behold.
The ‘Cats don’t have an alternate, and while it’s not needed for them, it would look a little better if there was a nice change of pace from them occasionally.
The biggest thing about the Kentucky uniform is that it’s instantly recognizable. If you turn a game on you instantly notice when the Wildcats are playing, that’s how much pull the Wildcats have.
These get a 9 out of 10, minus one point for no alternate.
