SEC Basketball: Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia top uniforms in league
By Erik Mauro
1. Tennessee Volunteers
Was there ever any doubt? Considering Tennessee Orange is the greatest color in any college color scheme, the Vols had to be number one on this list. In fact, it’s the only right answer for a list like this.
Start with the uniforms pictured here. A bit of a throwback look with the full team name on the jersey with the number sandwiched in between. The thin orange stripe on the shoulders and waist line adds just enough color on the uniform so it’s not totally bland, with the signature T on the side bottom of the shorts.
The road uniforms are orange, with white stripes and font. The font going down the shorts starts as a solid white stripe, and then trails off into the signature checkerboard, with the T on the bottom of the shorts again. The differing stripe is a neat look, and one of the only, if not the only team in college hoops that does it.
It helps that the Vols are a top 10 team in the country and a two seed in the NCAA Tourney, and they have some nice uniforms to go with it.
We mentioned earlier in our slideshow that it’s hard to get a perfect 10. Well, not for the Vols, these uniforms are a perfect ten. Well done, Tennessee!
