The McDonald’s All-American Game always features some of the best high school talents. Who performed best with regards to NCAA basketball recruiting?
The 2018-19 NCAA basketball season might not yet be complete but eyes are always on the future in this sport. That much was evident when many tuned into the 2019 edition of the McDonald’s All-American game on March 28. To put it simply, recruiting is a 365-day affair every single year as programs are always focused on taking the next step with regards to their roster. And while there are many high school events each year, perhaps the most well-known showcase of high school talent is the McDonald’s All-American Game. With 23 of the best high school talents taking the court in one game, this event brought a ton of highlights and excitement for the future of college hoops.
At its core, the McDAAG is an All-Star Game featuring the best high school seniors in the country. Unlike the high school seasons or summer circuits, this is not an event that coaches flock to as a means of evaluating players but is a showcase for the fans of what’s next. The majority of the players who competed in the event this year have already committed to their respective schools for next season and this shone a light on their accomplishments by bringing them all together.
In the 2019 edition of the event, several players took center stage to represent either the West or the East. The game took place in Atlanta (GA) and featured many of the players ranked among the top recruits from the class. In the end, though, the East Team took home the 115-100 win and an MVP was crowned. There were several players who made highlight reel players in the game, so let’s dive into some highlights as well as spotlighting some of the top performers.
