NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Looking ahead to the top 2020 prospects

Jalen Suggs – Minneapolis, MN

One of the most gifted athletes in the entire country, Jalen Suggs might not even play college basketball due to his talent on the gridiron. In addition to being ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the basketball database for 2020, he is also a top-10 dual-threat quarterback in the nation that holds offers from Ohio State and Georgia, among others. If, though, he does choose to take the basketball path, the talent level in that game should not be underestimated.

He stands at 6-foot-5 and is a terrific scorer with all kinds of moves. Suggs can knock down the open three, score in traffic, or soar through the air on the fastbreak. He also has the potential to be a strong secondary creator due to owning above-average vision for his size. With his athleticism and all-around game, Suggs is a matchup nightmare that can terrorize opponents. He averaged 24.2 points per game during his junior season for Minnehaha Academy.

Suggs has been asked about the decision between football and basketball on countless occasions and there is no indication that he is leaning in any direction. If he does end up choosing the hardwood, he will likely have his choice of schools. That is, of course, commonplace for top-10 recruits but Suggs’ multi-sport potential makes him extremely intriguing.
