The NCAA tournament didn’t give us as many upsets as we would have liked, but it definitely gave us a handful of great games. What games will we be talking about for this tournament and how do they stack up with each other?

Virginia finally did it. They rose back up after getting embarrassed last year losing to UMBC. They became the first one seed to ever lose to a sixteen seed but turned it all around by beating Texas Tech in the national championship game. In a season full of great stories this might be the best story of them all. But while they were the best story were the best game of the NCAA Tournament.

The first weekend produced a lot of boring games, with only a few hitting the list for top ten games of the tournament. But we were saved by the Elite Eight and Final Four. Duke decided they wanted to play great game after great game, and Tennessee did also. Their fans might not have liked how they ended their seasons, but you can’t argue they played in some great games.

Virginia also became the first champion to play multiple overtime games in a tournament and they were both instant classics. Combine that with some friendly officiating and they played in a handful of great games.

This list would normally be littered with games from mid-major teams upsetting big-time schools or coming close. This tournament did not have that, but the big boys came to play and had us on the edge of our seats. We had great shooting performances (Carsen Edwards) and a triple-double (Ja Morant). We had teams refusing to die even if they were down by 20 (Iowa and Tennessee) We had some questionable foul calls and some big time no calls (double dribble anyone?).

But put it all together and we ended up with a great tournament. So what games will we remember and how did it all play out? We take a look at the top ten games of the tournament.
