The 2019 NCAA Tournament is officially in the books following Virginia’s thrilling win over Texas Tech. Here are the biggest takeaways from the tournament.

It’s one of the worst times of the year, ladies and gentlemen – the 2019 NCAA Tournament is over, and with it the college basketball season.

Don’t be sad that it’s over. Be happy that it happened.

Virginia capped off the dream season and epic turnaround with an 85-77 overtime win over Texas Tech in the national championship game on Monday night thanks to an outstanding performance from a number of players, headlined by De’Andre Hunter’s 27 points and nine rebounds.

The two sides went back and forth all night long, and it was Hunter’s shot in the final seconds that forced overtime.

Virginia then made all 14 free throws they attempted in overtime to seal the victory, cementing their place atop the college basketball world.

Finally silencing all the doubters, the Cavaliers proved that their style of play can be effective in March and that they are truly the best team in the sport. They are validated.
