5. Davidson Wildcats

2018-19 season record: 24-10 (14-4 in A-10)

Despite losing the A-10 Player of the Year in Peyton Aldridge, Davidson didn’t miss a beat, finishing second in conference play. Kellan Grady had similar production to his freshman year but was a little less efficient, while Jon Axel Gudmundsson was a near triple-double threat every night on his way to winning POY honors himself.

But the reason why Davidson remained near the top of the A-10 was due to the now rising sophomore duo of Luke Frampton and Luka Brajkovic. Both were double-digit scorers and provided the needed balance for Grady and Gudmundsson to excel for the team. KiShawn Pritchett was a key glue guy for the team along with guard Carter Collins.

Barring unforeseen transfers and draft decisions, the Wildcats will bring back every one of importance, including the reigning A-10 Player of the Year. Head coach Bob McKillop may have one of his best teams in recent memory and the expectations should be to make the NCAA Tournament as an at-large candidate.

The A-10 has several teams on this list and with so much talent returning, the league could have a huge collective 2019-20 campaign. And as great as Davidson looks on paper, they still aren’t the best projected into next year.
