Recruiting is a never-ending process for NCAA basketball teams. Which programs are still in the running to potentially land 2019 recruit Lester Quinones?

The 2018-19 NCAA basketball season might be complete but recruiting never ends. With AAU season starting to heat up around the nation, programs everywhere are eagerly approaching the “offseason” with hopes of landing some top-tier prospects. And with many of the elite 2019 players already committed to their respective schools, Lester Quinones (No. 65 overall) has emerged as one of the most highly sought-after players in the country.

Out of well-known IMG Academy, Quinones is expected to be an elite-level guard right away at the college level. At 6-foot-5, he boasts plenty of height to play on the wing and his skill level is only continuing to grow. He might not be a great secondary creator for a guard but his ability to knock down trifectas might be second-to-none in this class. Quinones is an elite shooter from beyond the arc and that makes him a dangerous threat in the modern game. In addition to simply being able to operate in catch-and-shoot situations, he also can create for himself.

Quinones proved his worth on the UAA circuit last summer. In 12 contests for New Heights, he averaged 15.2 points (.455/.341/.774), 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He played alongside fellow uncommitted 2019 prospect Precious Achiuwa on that team as well.

Quinones has also reportedly cut his list of schools to five: LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Indiana, and Memphis. The expectation is that he will end up at one of these schools so let’s dive into how he might fit at each.
