Butler basketball has been active on the recruiting trail in hopes of building up the future talent of the program. Which 2020 players have been offered?

Butler basketball has been incredibly successful over the last several years across many different conferences. As a member of the Big East, though, it is vital that the program improves on the recruiting trail. The Dawgs have succeeded over the years despite lower-rated recruiting classes but they will likely need to secure more top-end talent in order to consistently finish in the upper half of the Big East. Head coach LaVall Jordan seems to be a strong recruiter but his track record is quite short (entering just year three with Butler).

With regards to the 2020 recruiting class, Coach Jordan and Co. have been active in seeking out many prospects across the country. Unlike the bluebloods of the world, Butler cannot simply target a top-50 player late in the recruiting period and land them. This means that the Dawgs need to always stay proactive in scouting potential diamonds in the rough as well as recruiting those players that are attracting plenty of other high-major programs.

Now that the AAU season is starting up, Butler is sure to be active on the recruiting trail over the next few months. With that said, it is important to give a quick overview of how the staff has been operating to this point. The Dawgs have offered 15 scholarships to 2020 prospects so far and a few players seem to be emerging as the top priorities heading into the “offseason.” Let’s take a dive into each of those scholarships and examine where Butler stands.
