Wisconsin Badgers

If the Hauser Brothers choose to stay in the state, Wisconsin is clearly the top choice. The Badgers have been one of the top programs in the country over the past several years and adding the Hausers could vault them back into the elite conversation. Even though Ethan Happ is graduating this offseason, the future of the program would be extremely bright if the Hausers commit. This is due to many different factors as well.

For starters, it would be a mistake to overlook the amount of returning talent that will likely be on the roster by the time the Hausers are eligible. After they sit out this coming campaign, they would join a 2020-21 rotation that would feature a senior class of Nate Reuvers, Brad Davison, D’Mitrik Trice, and Aleem Ford while also boasting a junior version of Kobe King. Happ’s graduation, while certainly a blow to the talent level for this coming season, will allow all of these players to take on bigger roles prior to the potential of adding the Hausers to the rotation.

It is also important to mention, though, that the Hausers could have a massive impact on recruiting. If the Hausers decide to play in Madison, then head coach Greg Gard would be able to make a very strong push for Jalen Johnson. Ranked as the No. 3 recruit in the 2020 class, it might be hard for Johnson to pass up the opportunity to compete for a national title in his home state even if programs like Duke are calling.

Due to the Hauser Brothers’ playing styles, they have the ability to fit just about anywhere. They will bring size and shooting to any of these rosters and have the ability to greatly impact the ceiling for each program over the next few seasons. With regards to Wisconsin, they could be the first domino in setting up a dark horse title contending roster in 2020-21.

It might be a long shot to think that the Badgers will reach that ceiling but their odds of landing the Hausers are quite high and nobody knows what would happen from there. Keep in mind that there are plenty of personal connections between the Hausers and the Wisconsin program.
