UNC Basketball lands arguably the best guard in the 2019 recruiting class in Cole Anthony. Can he lead the Tar Heels to the top of the ACC next season?

Every coach will tell you that they are only as great as the players on the team. While that is coach speak and mostly true. The coaching staffs are responsible for acquiring the players who make the team great. The great coaches are only as good as their best recruiters. Certain schools in the country are going to have a chance at every high-profile recruit in the country. The “Blue Bloods” as many call them have this advantage over every other team in the country due to tradition, recruiting and facility advantages, and the best coaches with the best staffs.

UNC Basketball would be considered one of those top programs. Current head coach Roy Williams has built a National Championship contender every single year. They are one of three ACC programs who compete for the top spot in the league and the country every year, joining archrival Duke and defending champion Virginia. Any time one of the top players in the country commits to the Tar Heels, it should not be a surprise.

The No. 2 player in the ESPN top 100, McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand MVP, Cole Anthony has decided to bring his talents to Chapel Hill. The Combo guard is going to fill an immediate need for the Tar Heels. Coach Williams now his guard to pair with 5-star center Armando Bacot in Chapel Hill. These two players are going to be instrumental in helping North Carolina maintain their spot near the top of the ACC. Tar Heel fans are going to really like Anthony.
