This Kansas Basketball team has dealt with issues throughout the past season and their recruiting has struggled as a result. Here’s a look at five players with interest in joining the Jayhawks for the 2019-20 season.

The Kansas Basketball team last season struggled to live up to expectations after being named the number one team in the preseason poll. They dealt with NCAA investigations and injuries which led to their 14 straight Big 12 Regular Season title streak coming to an end.

After that season came to an end they have already lost many key players as Dedric Lawson and Quentin Grimes are two of the players to declare for the NBA Draft. Charlie Moore and KJ Lawson have also left the program since then.

Then they have two players who have declared for the draft but have left the door wide open towards a potential return. Silvio De Sousa is appealing his suspension for next season and has made it known he would like to return, but if he doesn’t win the appeal he will likely stay in the draft. Then they have starting point guard Devon Dotson who is testing the waters getting feedback but is assumed to be on his way back to Kansas for next season.

The Jayhawks have just five scholarship players set to return next season and then two four-star recruits in Isaac Mcbride and Christian Braun. Udoka Azubuike will be one of the best players in the country if healthy, but with the current roster they have, they’re a fringe Top 25 team that is closer to the NIT than they would be to competing for a national championship.

There’s no reason for Kansas fans to panic though. Bill Self is still a great coach who does a good job recruiting so expect him to continue to fill out this roster over the coming weeks. Here are five players they would like to bring on board with all of them being able to make a big impact if they do become Jayhawks.
