5-star Power Forward Trendon Watford is one of just two remaining undecided five-star recruits in the NCAA Basketball Class of 2019. With a decision looming, let’s examine each of Watford’s five options.

It’s that time of the year again.

The time of the year in which high school basketball players officially decide the college that they will be attending, in addition to the key decisions of NCAA Basketball transfers and NBA hopefuls.

Amidst the chaos, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Typically, most, if not all players decide their team for next season by June, and as the end of April nears, some final decisions are going down.

With all-world recruit Cole Anthony making his decision to attend UNC on Tuesday, there are just two remaining five-star recruits in the Class of 2019 that have yet to commit to a school. One of those two is Trendon Watford.

Watford is the #18 recruit in the Class of 2019, as ranked by ESPN. Watford played in last month’s McDonald’s All-American Game and is one of the better prep players from the state of Alabama in recent memory.

Watford is a gifted scorer who brings plus explosiveness to the offensive end of the floor. While Watford is not the greatest defensive player in his class, he does just about everything else well and would be a major addition to any of the final five schools that he is deciding from.

Those schools are Alabama, LSU, Duke, Memphis, and Indiana. All five schools have had recent success in recruiting, and all five schools expect to field very competitive teams next year.

One major component of Watford’s recruiting process to this point has been the fact that there is no clear front-runner. Every school has its glaring positives, while every school also has some clear downsides.

What are those positives and downsides? Let’s take a look.
