Scottie Barnes is one of the top players in the 2020 class. Which NCAA basketball schools are still recruiting him heading into the AAU season?

With the AAU season heating up, recruiting is now the top priority for every NCAA basketball program in the country. And while many of the elite-level programs are looking to put the finishing touches on their roster for this coming season, looking ahead to the 2020 class also needs to be at the top of the list. Landing an early commitment from an elite prospect can go a long way in developing a tremendous overall class and that is what the final eight schools in the running for Scottie Barnes are looking to do.

Barnes, the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2020 class, is an extremely versatile talent. An elite athlete at 6-foot-8, Barnes is listed as a small forward but he is really just a basketball player. He can defend all five positions when necessary and has the ability to be either a primary playmaker or scorer. Barnes is not an elite shooter yet, but his floor is extremely high due to the fact that he can impact each game in a variety of ways.

As of right now, there are the eight teams still in the running to land the talented wing: California, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Kansas, Kentucky, and Duke.  For the moment, there does not seem to be a timeline regarding his recruitment but you can be sure that each of the schools will be heavily involved over the next few months. Barnes is clearly one of the top players in the class and his versatility/skill level will make him a quality addition to any team.

Now, with the AAU season taking center stage in the college basketball world, let’s take a look at how Scottie Barnes might fit at each of his final eight schools.
