Arkansas Basketball: 5 players who could be added to 2019-20 roster
5) Kyree Walker (6’5″ 195 G) – Hillcrest Prep
Kyree Walker appears to be the exception to the rule for Musselman and the Razorbacks in 2019. Walker is a 5-star ESPN top 15 prospect in the class of 2020. So, why does he belong on this list?
There has been a great deal of speculation that Walker has the intent to reclassify into the 2019 class, and he has stated that he will make a decision on that near the end of the grassroots season. In addition to that, he was strongly considering joining Musselman at Nevada prior to his move to Arkansas. He was offered by Musselman on one of his first days on the job, and the prospects of playing in the SEC may peak his interest in reclassifying even more.
Walker already possesses a college frame and college strength to go along with elite quickness. He can create off the bounce at a high level and would be an immediate impact player for Arkansas should he choose to reclassify and commit.
Kyree has spoken highly of both Musselman and Arkansas recently, consistently listing the Razorbacks near the top of his interests. Rivals FutureCast predicts Walker to land with the Hogs, as does the 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction.
Since he is technically just a junior, Walker is currently tearing it up on the summer circuit at the Adidas Gauntlet in Dallas. It is no surprise that Musselman and his staff have been courtside at every one of his games throughout the weekend. His decision this summer will be much-anticipated, and it would be a grand slam pick-up for Musselman if he chooses the Razorbacks.
