Indiana basketball missed the NCAA Tournament during this past season. How could the Hoosiers potentially get back on track?

Despite landing one of the best recruiting classes in the nation, Indiana basketball struggled to win games consistently last season. Injuries certainly played a factor in this but it was nonetheless a disappointing season for the program. The Hoosiers have now missed the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons and they are in need of returning to prominence soon. Head coach Archie Miller has clearly been successful on the recruiting trail since taking over in Bloomington but that needs to start translating to wins.

Looking ahead to next season, there are several areas for improvement. This is due to the fact that even though the Hoosiers only narrowly missed the Big Dance, they are losing several key pieces this offseason. Above all others, leading scorers Juwan Morgan (graduation) and Romeo Langford (NBA Draft) will no longer be with the program. This means that the Hoosiers will need several players to step up in order to fill that void.

In addition to simply working on improving each day, the coaching staff should be focused on setting some priorities for the offseason. These could include working with specific players, creating schemes for the coming season, or remaining active in the transfer/recruiting markets. Every program has room for improvement over the course of the offseason and IU is no different. Now, let’s dive into four potential priorities for Coach Miller and Co. over the next few months.
