The 2019 Run N Slam showcased some of the best up-and-coming players. How might this have an impact on the future of NCAA basketball recruiting?

Even though it is not currently a live period, NCAA basketball recruiting never stops. During this past weekend, several of the top young rising stars took the court in Fort Wayne, IN for the Run N Slam event. And while college coaches were not allowed to be in attendance, many athletes honed their skills that will certainly be showcased over the next few months. With so many teams competing, the event really put the next wave of potential college basketball stars on display.

Over the course of the weekend in Fort Wayne, I watched four teams more than any others. In the 17U group, both of the Indiana schools (Indy Heat and Indiana Elite) were among those that I saw multiple times. The same can be said for Meanstreets and Young & Reckless in the 16U group. Because of the fact that I watched these teams more than any others, I will stick to analyzing some of the top players I saw from each of those teams.

There were obviously other players outside of these four teams that showcased their skills, but I was not able to see enough of them to draw major conclusions. There will, though, be more events over the course of the next few months as opportunities for players to build their reputation as top players in their respective classes and it is the impressions that they make on college coaches that matter most.

Now, without any further ado, let’s jump into eight of the top standouts from the four teams that I watched most at the 2019 Run N Slam.
