No.1 – Virginia Tech

I think right now this is a two-horse race, but I think the Hokies are a few length ahead. I previously mentioned how recruits typically only commit to places that have visited, well they only visit Cone has had is to Virginia Tech. That visit was less that two weeks ago, and suddenly he reclassifies. I think they may have made the pitch to him saying that if you come THIS season you will see your fair share of playing time. The Hokies pushed Duke to the limit in the tournament, but are losing most of their minutes. Justin Robinson  and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are both gone leaving minutes to compete for in the back court.

The bad part of the Hokies now is that the coach that recruited him for most of this process is no longer there, but it is a good sign that right after his visit he reclassifies. His early scheduled commitment leaves no time for any other school to make a push for him. Every sign points to the Hokies right now. It would bolster their class immensely, even possibly making it so they can remain competitive next year after losing so much. Mike Young needs this to start his reign off right.

I would be shocked if he went anywhere besides Virginia Tech, and if it is anywhere besides there and A&M it would blow my mind. I think they are just so far ahead right now, but anything can happen.
