Big 12 Basketball: Top 5 decisions to be made regarding 2019 NBA Draft
By Josh Stevens
Lindell Wiggington – Iowa State
We saw what Wiggington could be after his freshman season, but an injury really hurt his season this year. He only was able to start in two games this year, and one of them was the game he was hurt it. He regressed in every statistical category this year. He saw a decrease in minutes as well.
His team was still very solid with the emergence of Marial Shayok. But, for Wiggington, this process is more to see what he can do to improve himself next year as his minutes should go back up to the 30 range, and he should be more ball dominant.
Wiggington showed potential in his first season scoring 16.7 points while shooting 40% from three. Those are numbers that people should expect from him next year as well, but next year should be spent in college. He right now has nothing going for him. Wiggington was not healthy this year, looked tentative when pulling up, and turned the ball over too much for a guard.
He will more than likely take this advice from NBA executives and run with it as he just soaks the game up. For right now though unless he is given some bad advice there should be at least one more season in Ames for him.
