Jalen Wilson decommitted from Michigan following the departure of head coach John Beilein. Which NCAA basketball programs will be recruiting him now?

NCAA basketball recruiting for the 2019 class has, for the most part, slowed down considerably. With the vast majority of the top prospects already committed to their respective schools, the priority has shifted towards building for the future rather than the present. Still, though, there are a few highly-touted prospects still available to join the collegiate ranks next season. Among them is Jalen Wilson, who asked for his release from Michigan after head coach John Beilein left for the NBA.

As the No. 50 overall prospect in the class (by 247Sports), Wilson has immediately emerged as one of the top available incoming freshmen for this coming season. This also might be coming at the perfect time for several of the top programs in the country as they are looking to fill out the final gaps in their future rotation. It is clear that he will be highly sought-after over the next few weeks due to his high skill level and versatility.

With his 6-foot-8 frame, smooth shooting stroke, and high-level athleticism, he looks poised to be an immediately impactful forward at the collegiate level. His versatility to play both inside and out will allow him to find minutes and fit within just about any rotation.

With regards to the future of his recruiting, Wilson indicated to 247Sports that he will be considering five schools: Michigan (still), Oklahoma State, Florida, Kansas, and North Carolina. So, without any further ado, let’s dive into analyzing his potential fit at each.
