1. De’Andre Hunter

De’Andre Hunter is a very good player who has improved in nearly every way since his freshman season. He wasn’t the big name prospect that most of the players projected to go in the lottery were, but he has all the tools to be successful on both ends of the floor at the next level.

During his sophomore season, he averaged 14.9 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He won’t ever be a guy who lights up the stat sheet, but he could become a better fit for the pro game than the college game which is the case for many players. One of the reasons he didn’t dominate in college is the system he plays in at Virginia. It is very successful for them, but the players won’t ever get the individual recognition they deserve by filling up the stat sheet.

He impacts the game in so many ways, but he does have some areas he needs to improve in especially on the offensive end. He can score the ball inside, but when he’s going up against NBA wings he will need to develop better ball handling to have success. His ability to score in other ways will help, but he needs to be able to get his own shots more as well.

The Cavaliers have some quality frontcourt players headlined by former all-star Kevin Love, but he isn’t the player he once was. They have some other players who can contribute on their roster, but they need a forward that they can count on for the long haul and De’Andre Hunter could be that guy.

All three of these players have a chance to be successful in the NBA and would be good additions to the Cavs roster going forward. There are some other talented players who could be available, but with Collin Sexton on the roster, they don’t have a huge need for a point guard. If they land any of these three players Cavs fans should consider it a success.
