Another NBA Draft lottery has come and gone and the Chicago Bulls have wound up with the seventh pick for the third consecutive season. Who should they pick?
The Chicago Bulls have actually had success with the seventh pick in the previous years. Lauri Markkanen had a strong sophomore season and Wendell Carter showed promise on both sides of the court in his injury-shortened rookie campaign.
Unlike the previous two NBA Drafts, the talent pool this year is not as deep. The 2019 class is obviously loaded up front with talents like Zion Williamson and Ja Morant, but lacks the next tier of great prospects.
The Bulls will be looking to find a gem in that next tier of prospects while also filling the biggest need on their roster which is their lack of guard depth. Unlike other teams in the upper half of the lottery, the Bulls already have the majority of their starting lineup set for next season. The aforementioned Markkanen and Carter in the frontcourt along with Zach Lavine and Otto Porter Jr. on the wings. That leaves the point guard spot up for grabs.
The front office has gone impatient with Kris Dunn’s lack of production thus far and will likely look to find a new starting point guard this offseason. With three-point guards projected to go in the top ten, along with a group of high upside wings and bigs, let’s break down what the Bulls might do with the seventh pick.
