The Phoenix Suns didn’t land where they wanted in the NBA Draft lottery but they can still add an impact player. Here are the three top players for them to target with the No. 6 pick.

The Phoenix Suns have a good job core headlined by Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton that they can build around going forward. They were by far the worst team in the Western Conference with a 19-63 record so they have a long ways to go until they’re back in the playoffs.

Despite the struggles, the future is bright in Phoenix, led by their new head coach Monty Williams. They have other young talented players as well such as Josh Jackson and TJ Warren who will help fill out this roster going forward. They’ve had so much coach turnover in recent years that these players haven’t been given the opportunity to succeed.

Despite some of the talent they have there’s one glaring weakness that has held them back in a big way, which is the point guard position. They haven’t had a point guard they can rely on in years which forced them to play many different players at that spot last season.

Many different players had stints as the starting point guard including Tyler Johnson, Elie Okobo, and De’Anthony Melton. All three of them are solid players, but they’re nowhere near the level of a quality starting point guard and they likely aren’t even worthy of being a reliable backup.

If that’s the area they look to improve at with their No. 6 pick in this year’s draft then they certainly will have options. Here are the top three prospects that they should consider drafting with their first-round selection.
