3. Coby White

Coby White is an exciting prospect who is a talented guard who can play both on, and off of the ball. He came into his freshman season, not expected to be a one-and-done, but now he seems to be locked into being a lottery pick in this draft.

His emergence was a big reason that North Carolina was able to secure a one seed in the NCAA Tournament. He did a very good job complimenting their upperclassmen such as Luke Maye and Cameron Johnson on the offensive end.

The Tar Heels were supposed to have a top 10 pick on their team, but it was supposed to be Nassir Little, not Coby White. While Little does still have a chance to go in the top 10, he had a disappointing season that could keep that from happening.

White was very productive during this past season as he averaged 16.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. He shot the ball pretty efficiently as well making 42% of his shots including 35% of his shots from three-point range. If he can keep those percentages as he makes the jump to the next level then he is going to make an impact right away.

White has good size at 6’4.75″ and 191 Lbs which is something we are seeing from more and more point guards in the NBA today. His wingspan is  6’5″ which is good enough as he is a fine option to play both guard spots at the next level.

The Suns have a huge need at the point guard spot. Devin Booker is a star at the shooting guard position, but they haven’t had a reliable point guard alongside him during his time in Phoenix and that’s a big reason that they haven’t been able to be competitive. Coby White isn’t their ideal candidate, but he would be a big upgrade who they’ve had the past couple of years at the position.
